Summary: The Market Development Manager role involves developing and executing sales strategies and marketing plans for a company focusing on polyolefins. Responsibilities include identifying business opportunities, managing pricing strategies, and ensuring the achievement of annual sales targets. The position requires regular customer visits, overseeing the polyolefins portfolio, and presenting results in monthly meetings. Additionally, the role focuses on maintaining stock levels, developing market strategies for new products, handling complaints, and creating technical sales documents. Active participation in trade fairs to identify industry trends and market needs is also essential. Responsibilities: • Develop sales strategies and marketing plans. • Identification and initiation of business possibilities. • Planning of sales and processing of price strategies. • Achieving annual plan and following years. • Draft of sales campaign with the request to the Head of Market Development. • Personal assistance of potential target customers. • Minimum 3 days of visiting customers/suppliers per week. • Management of the entire polyolefins portfolio professionally and organisationally. • Participation in the monthly meetings. Presentation of the results of the Business Unit, performance of previous month vs plan, current month vs plan (amount of sales, prices, project potential, etc.). • Responsibility and monitoring of stock levels. • Development of market strategies for new products. • Processing of complaints. • Processing of technical sales documents in cooperation with Head of Market Development (presentations, brochures, mailers, etc.). • Development of new profitable market segments by defining the end users and system suppliers. • Active participation in trade fairs to identify developments within the industry sector to spot their needs and the market niches. Requirements: • University degree in Plastics Technology. • Fluent in spoken and written English and another European language; German would be an advantage. • Knowledge of MS Office, PowerPoint, Outlook. • Profound knowledge of markets and applications for silicones. • Well organized, professional competence, own initiative with excellent communication and presentation skills. • Business sense and entrepreneurial mind-set. • Leadership and persuasiveness. • Motivating leadership in exemplary function. |
