FRANCE| The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with customers in the French market, with a focus on non-automotive and non-medical device applications. This includes applications such as food contact, healthcare, toys, sports equipment, cosmetics, tools and other industrial applications. The role is central to building a sustainable sales pipeline in France and will involve close collaboration with R&D and sales colleagues in Sweden. The Business Development Manager will follow the company’s strategies, pricing policies and service levels with the aim of achieving long-term business growth while maintaining high quality and environmental standards. This is a role that requires patience, persistence and a consultative approach. The focus is on prospecting, nurturing opportunities and developing business over the long term, rather than quick wins. Over time, the role will naturally evolve into an Account Manager position, with day-to-day order handling supported by the back-office sales team. Key Responsibilities: • Develop sales and profitability in the French market, focusing on non-automotive and non-medical device applications. • Nurture and expand relationships with existing customers while building strong connections with new prospects. • Identify and create new business opportunities across diverse applications such as food contact, healthcare (non-medical devices), toys, sports equipment, cosmetics, hand tools and industrial products. • Lead customer projects from first contact through to successful delivery, working closely with technical service and R&D colleagues. • Prepare and manage quotations, cost calculations and pricing proposals; negotiate contracts, delivery terms and payment conditions. • Ensure smooth business flow by maintaining high standards in quotations, contracts, delivery follow-up and after-sales service. • Visit customers regularly to strengthen relationships, monitor project progress and resolve any issues or complaints. • Participate in customer satisfaction initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement. • Develop, monitor and report on annual budgets and sales forecasts. • Build and maintain a strong long-term sales pipeline, balancing short-term wins with strategic growth opportunities. Profile Requirements: • Experience in business development or sales, preferably within polymers and/or compounding. • Technical background in polymer compounding is advantageous, but not essential. • Experience in consumer goods, healthcare, food contact or industrial applications is beneficial. • Strong relationship-building skills with the ability to serve both small and medium-sized customers as key clients. • A patient and consultative sales approach, with the ability to manage long-term growth. • Comfortable working independently in France while collaborating closely with international teams. • Fluent in French with good English skills. |
